Barbara Krieg is a partner in AHFI’s Labor, Employment and Government Contracts practice group. She has 15 years of experience representing employers with both union and non-union workforces in a wide range of employment matters. Barbara handles litigation involving claims of wrongful discharge, discrimination, harassment, compensation, leave rights and breach of contract. She also regularly advises clients on compliance with state and federal regulations such as leave statutes, wage and hour requirements, the issuance of employment policies and handbooks and the handling of sensitive employee issues such as discipline, accommodations, termination, the investigation of harassment and other matters. Barbara’s traditional labor experience includes collective bargaining negotiations, advising clients with respect to contract administration, and representing employers in labor arbitrations and before the National Labor Relations Board and California’s Agricultural Labor Relations Board.
Barbara is a “second career” lawyer, having previously worked in the international
trade show industry for a number of years prior to law school. Following graduation
from UCLA Law School, she practiced labor and employment law in Southern
California for ten years. Barbara relocated to Hawai`i and joined AHFI in early 2006.
