About Cori

Corianne Lau loves the challenge of helping employers navigate through the maze of employment laws to manage companies’ employment relationships effectively. Her practice focuses on advising businesses on employment-related issues, governmental requirements and procurement matters. Cori’s administrative law and litigation experience serve her clients well when “gently persuading” or facing off against government agencies. “I help companies prevent disputes but I also advocate for and advise them at each step to produce the best results if they get into a fight.”

Cori counsels companies ranging from small businesses to large multinational corporations. She has a special affinity for helping nonprofits solve problems and stay out of trouble. In fact, her passion for community service shows through her numerous nonprofit affiliations. She is a director of the Friends of the Hawai`i State Art Museum (HISAM) and the East-West Center Foundation, a former member of the Board of Governors of the East-West Center, and is a past director of the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii, the YWCA of O`ahu, the Hawai`i Women’s Legal Foundation and Hawaii Women Lawyers. Her professional affiliations include membership in of the National Contract Management Association, the Employment Law Committee of DRI (formerly Defense Research Institute) and the Society for Human Resource Management. She is a past director of the Hawaii State Bar Association and a former Co-Chair of the bar’s Continuing Legal Education Committee.

Having raised twins, Cori is adept at sensing trouble, multi-tasking and administering “tough-love” — skills that are appreciated by her clients.
