About Louise

Louise K. Y. Ing, a founding shareholder and director of Alston Hunt Floyd & Ing, believes the better you know the community, the more you can help your client. Her deep connections to the local for-profit and nonprofit sectors allow her to help the community prosper and make the most of relationships that are relevant to her clients’ business.

Louise’s practice focuses on helping businesses, nonprofits and individuals resolve their disputes, prevent future ones and get back to work. Her litigation and dispute resolution practice includes contracts, commercial transactions, leases, employment, real estate, creditors’ rights and bankruptcy law, proprietary information, non-competition and confidentiality agreements, and intellectual property. She also serves as Chief Outside Legal Counsel to Hawai`i-based online game development company Tetris Online, Inc.

Louise has frequently devoted her energy to help strengthen Hawaii’s communities as a board member of non-profits (the University of Hawai`i Foundation and Child & Family Service, among others), and Hawai`i-based companies such as Island Holdings, as well as serving as past President of both the Hawaii State Bar Association and Hawaii State Bar Foundation.

Born in Honolulu, Louise earned her J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law at U.C. Berkeley, and her B.A. magna cum laude in American Studies from Yale University. She is married with two children, a daughter in college in New York City and a son who is a proud employee of the Boston Red Sox.
