About Robert

Robert helps companies protect some of their most valuable assets – their intellectual property.

He gives guidance on a range of issues, including the registration and protection of trademarks and copyrights, trade secrets, privacy and publicity rights, unfair competition, domain name disputes, contractual obligations, litigation support, licensing, and general advice. Robert has personally negotiated and drafted a multitude of brand, media, entertainment, and technology licenses in his practice, and has managed an extensive international and domestic trademark portfolio for many years. When necessary, Robert has assisted clients with litigating matters before federal and state courts, the Trademark Trial and Appeals Board, the World Intellectual Property Organization, and the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Robert worked for several years in the commercial real estate industry, offering marketing, leasing, and sales support to clients across the United States.

He is currently licensed to practice law in the federal and state courts of Hawaii, as well as before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is a member of the Hawaii State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and formerly served as a Barrister on the American Inns of Court. In 2011, Robert was appointed to the Workforce Development Council by Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie, and was selected as a Hearing Committee Member for the Office of Disciplinary Counsel.
