In the medical malpractice area, William S. Hunt represents physicians and hospitals, defending high stakes, multi-million dollar catastrophic injury claims. "Every case is a different intersection of medical and legal issues. My job is to clear a path to a successful resolution, as well as assist the physicians and nurses through a very stressful situation for all involved."
The most challenging aspect of healthcare law in Hawai`i today? "The constantly changing and more restrictive regulations concerning obtaining and using health information of plaintiffs is making the defense of medical malpractice claims more difficult and expensive," says Hunt.
Hunt also assists large corporations, such as Chevron U.S.A. in a variety of legal matters involving litigation and non-litigation issues. He also represents clients in commercial litigation, most recently obtaining a preliminary injunction after a two-day evidentiary hearing for minority shareholders in a battle for control of a closely held corporation
