About Bill

William Hunt is one of Hawai`i’s go-to attorneys for the defense of multi-million dollar catastrophic injury claims. Bill primarily represents physicians and hospitals in complex and high dollar disputes concerning alleged medical negligence and other health care matters. He also has represented commercial companies such as Chevron U.S.A. in general litigation and business matters.

His daily practice is 100% focused on litigation and dispute resolution where he strives for the quickest resolution to the client’s problems, or assiduously prepares to litigate those problems if necessary.

Bill has participated as counsel in over fifty jury/judge trials and binding arbitrations with a very high degree of success for his clients, most recently convincing a jury to only award $48,000 to a plaintiff whose well-known trial attorney had requested $60 million.

Bill received his J.D. from Columbia University, and worked his way through the School of Law part time as a law clerk for the Center on Social Welfare Policy and Law. Soon after he moved to Hawai`i and started his practice with a firm representing defendants in criminal cases. He is a licensed to practice in the United States Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and United States District Court, as well as all Hawai`i Courts. He is a member of the ABA, DRI and is a board member and president of the Hawai`i Justice Foundation. He stays active in his spare time paddling in 6 person Hawaiian canoes and playing softball.
