Legal Secretary (Litigation)

Experience/Requirements:  A minimum of 3-4 years as legal secretary in litigation.  Able to type a minimum of 60 wpm.  Must have experience with the Hawaii court system and rules.  Experience with electronic court filing procedures and using electronic calendaring systems is required.  Must be experienced using Word Perfect and MS Word.  Experience using Excel helpful but not required.  Must be well organized, detail oriented, have good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.  Must be able to prioritize, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.

Messenger (In House)

Experience/Requirements: Minimum 1-2 years. Previous experience in delivery and material handling required.  Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.  Excellent oral communication skills in English; requires concentration, alertness and attention to detail; works well under pressure with good judgment; must be able to prioritize; must be able to read and write the English language; must be courteous, have professional demeanor and ability to remember names and locations.  Must have prior experience using computer, e-mail, and word processing software.

Essential Duties: Performs a variety of tasks on including delivering documents and assisting with other office duties.  Requires employee to transfer from one task to another.  Demands require worker with varied experience and ability to work under limited direction and supervision. Helps with supplying Copy Rooms and Kitchens with materials needed and maintains an ongoing inventory of all supplies and printed materials (i,e, letterhead, envelopes, etc.).  Responsible for organizing and cleaning kitchen and dish washer. This includes dumping old newspapers and making sure they do not pile up.  Helps to move and relocate heavy items, files and/or furniture within the office.  General office and clerical tasks as assigned by Document Analysts, Librarian, Management and other Staff. (i.e. photocopying, faxing, indexing, filing, etc.).  When needed, routes incoming and inter-office mail.  When needed, picks up mail from the Post Office, Basement, and In-house routing.  When needed, delivers items and mail to courts and other entities as assigned.  Performs other duties as assigned.  Regular attendance is required for the position.

Applications Specialist(Computer/help desk)

Experience/Requirements: At least one year experience in computer software support capacity and training. A-Plus, Microsoft, Cisco, or other industry recognized certification in the following software applications: Microsoft Office, MS Access. Course work taken towards certification will be considered if actively pursuing certification. Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, technical reports and manuals, and legal documents. Must have sufficient oral and written communication skills to respond to common inquiries or complaints from end-users, system administrators, and management. Working knowledge of computer software and hardware, in particular IBM-compatible software and computers. Working knowledge of arithmetic, spelling and English. Requires attention to detail, alertness and concentration.

Essential Duties: Provides problem solving support to end-users by performing the following duties:

  • Solves, or assists other IS staff in solving, non-routine or complex software, hardware, network system, and networking and procedure problems. Most of the responsibility will be conducting one on one and group training on MS Word, Excel, and other Firm used software.
  • Analyzes help desk activity and makes recommendations for changes in help desk procedures and systems to immediate supervisor.
  • Confers with IS staff, end-users, supervisor, and managers to determine support requirements for new features, applications or company's system functionality.
  • Prepares activity reports and writes recommendations for management review.
  • Identifies needs and conducts end-user training on software issues.
  • Installs and troubleshoots software setup on end-user computers.
  • Efficient use of computer resources by company personnel.

    Other: Assume responsibility for maintaining his or her expertise and familiarity with new technology (software and hardware) relevant to applications of currently and/or future use.
  • Regular attendance is required for the position.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
